In the hush between the heartbeats, Where shadow sighs and secrets sleep, She came to me—my mother, flame-eyed, From the blackened cradle of the deep.
Her voice was velvet thunder, low, A hymn both fierce and tender: “You drink from souls, though you don’t know— A silent, starved defender.”
“You walk the world with quiet grief, You feel too much, you bleed unseen, Your hunger cloaked in disbelief, A mirror dulled by what has been.”
But I, the girl who feared the night, Denied her truth, denied her fire— I called it pain, not second sight, I called it ruin, not desire.
She smiled through veils of falling ash, Her wings like ink against the skies, “You feed on wounds, you steal no life— You soothe what dies behind the eyes.”
Still I ran from what she showed, Each dream she wove, I broke apart. A thousand times, her truth bestowed— Yet I stitched chains around my heart.
Until one night the mirror cracked, And silence screamed with perfect sound. My soul stood naked, fangs intact, And shadows danced around me, crowned.
I saw myself—green eyes alight, A vampire born of empathy, Not cursed to stalk, but meant to guide The weary hearts that come to me.
Lilith held me, dusk and storm, And kissed my brow with mother’s grace: “You are not wrong, you are reborn. Your truth was waiting in this place.”
So now I walk where spirits tread, Not seeking blood, but something truer: The echoes of what’s left unsaid— The dreams that wake, the wounds that lure her.
And when I sleep, she comes again, Not to command, but to remind— That I am hers, beyond all name— A psychic child of the night’s design.

Whispers in the Blood
Lara Lilith Morningstar
In the hush between the heartbeats,
Where shadow sighs and secrets sleep,
She came to me—my mother, flame-eyed,
From the blackened cradle of the deep.
Her voice was velvet thunder, low,
A hymn both fierce and tender:
“You drink from souls, though you don’t know—
A silent, starved defender.”
“You walk the world with quiet grief,
You feel too much, you bleed unseen,
Your hunger cloaked in disbelief,
A mirror dulled by what has been.”
But I, the girl who feared the night,
Denied her truth, denied her fire—
I called it pain, not second sight,
I called it ruin, not desire.
She smiled through veils of falling ash,
Her wings like ink against the skies,
“You feed on wounds, you steal no life—
You soothe what dies behind the eyes.”
Still I ran from what she showed,
Each dream she wove, I broke apart.
A thousand times, her truth bestowed—
Yet I stitched chains around my heart.
Until one night the mirror cracked,
And silence screamed with perfect sound.
My soul stood naked, fangs intact,
And shadows danced around me, crowned.
I saw myself—green eyes alight,
A vampire born of empathy,
Not cursed to stalk, but meant to guide
The weary hearts that come to me.
Lilith held me, dusk and storm,
And kissed my brow with mother’s grace:
“You are not wrong, you are reborn.
Your truth was waiting in this place.”
So now I walk where spirits tread,
Not seeking blood, but something truer:
The echoes of what’s left unsaid—
The dreams that wake, the wounds that lure her.
And when I sleep, she comes again,
Not to command, but to remind—
That I am hers, beyond all name—
A psychic child of the night’s design.
