Mirror magick is a fascinating practice that leverages the symbolism of mirrors as portals to the self and other realms. By gazing into a mirror, practitioners aim to:
- *Access inner wisdom*: Tap into subconscious thoughts, desires, and fears
- *Cast spells*: Focus intentions, amplify energy, or banish negativity
- *Explore other realms*: Scry for insight, communicate with spirits, or glimpse alternate timelines
Techniques vary:
- *Candle-lit gazing*: Stare into a mirror with soft light to access hidden aspects of self
- *Intentional writing*: Write goals or desires on the mirror, then erase or dissolve them to release energy
- *Energy work*: Use mirrors to redirect or deflect negativity, or amplify positive vibes
- *Scrying*: Gaze into a mirror (often black or dark) to receive visions or messages
Some practitioners believe mirrors can:
- *Reveal hidden truths*: About oneself or situations
- *Facilitate transformation*: By confronting and releasing inner shadows
- *Amplify intentions*: Focus energy and manifest desires

I have never been too keen on mirrors ever since I was little; I won't have them on closet doors nor behind dressers either. In one house me and my dad moved into a large swath of the livingroom wall was covered in these mirrored tiles which we removed as soon as we could.
However if one was to have a small mirror in their room or altar I wonder if having a black candle or a sage incense stick burning near it would help act as a sort of shield or barrier to keep out energies that are less than supportive.
Do they really act as portals or do they amplify energies that are already a bit..skewed or perhaps manifest certain fears into am image of sorts?
