# How did you find your way into the craft?
For me, it was through a high school girlfriend in my senior year. I started out in Wicca and advanced into other forms of paganism.

I'm actually Jewish but have been working with Lilth. Lilth is an important figure to Jewish women, especially in modern times where we have newsletters, study groups, and literature on her. There's a whole generation of Jewish daughters born to women my age, many of whom have been been given the birth name Lilth. Despite this it is still taboo to openly discuss these things.I had been interested in different Pagan belief systems since I was a child but always chastised for seeking them out by my family and religious community when young. However, I met a Pagan candle maker in Montréal who introduced me to the idea of working with Lilth in the way I do now. I started to seek out others who work with her as well, which include individuals from Pagan and Craft backgrounds so that I can learn about and understand different perspectives.
It wasn't earth shattering for me. I was burning my way through a gift card at a chain book store in 1990 and was poking through the new age section... or alternative religion section... it's been a long time and I've been through a lot of both since, LOL. Anyway I ran across Scott Cunningham books and carried on from there. It seems the Farrars book The Witches Bible and Buckland's big blue was in the mix early on. I branched out a lot since, tapping into more folk and traditional branches so consider myself pretty eclectic in learning and practices for some time now.
I read Sybil Leeks Diary of a Witch and I realized I knew what I was. Although I also knew that some of the customs of the family were regressed forms of witchcraft. I was told to forget those things as they were just Southern Superstitons and they did not mean anything. I was sent to church and told to get the Satanic views out of my head. I know now that I had several family members that were accused witches here and in England. My Aunts were among some of the accused Salem witches. Of course that was on my father's side. On my mother's side, I have only seen the superstitions that tell me there was a background in some form of at least the healing arts. When I became aware of my Celtic history, I felt a calling to come home to the old religion and I started working on becoming who I was supposed to be all along. Later, I found my Norse connection and I honor that connection as well. I am one who appreciates all knowledge and I do not regreat any of the things I learned early or later in my quest. I hope to continue gaining knowledge as there is never enough.
