    • This is SO true. It has been about a year and a half since my dad passed away and I am still grieving. Not the crying type of grieving but a deep ache that his passing has left me with.

It is like a pit of grey mist that is swirling around in that empty crater where my father once was and it just brings home the fact of how much I miss him, how much I relied on him, how much I valued talking to him about things I can't talk about with others.

I was with him until 2022, we knew one another well and his insight was amazing and the stories he told me of when he was growing up in Switzerland made me long even more for a relatively simpler way of life.

Without my dad I feel lost and adrift.

I miss my mom too whom I lost last September and while we got along well enough we drifted apart yet I still miss her...

That sort of ache, for me anyways, is not going to just one day disappear...and the worst part of it for me is that there is no one there to try and fill that empty crater, no other family members to step in and help.

It hurts in ways that an outside observer will never really understand at a deeper level.
